Beacon are a Brooklyn duo -- vocalist/lyricist Thomas Mullarney III and producer Jacob Gossett -- who met as students at Pratt Institute and formed the band in 2011, building a hushed, minimalist downtempo sound from there. 'Into the Night' comes from their debut For Now EP, released via Ghostly International in October 2012, after the pair had been self-releasing their first singles on Bandcamp. They have toured alongside artists like Tycho, Gold Panda and Oneohtrix Point Never, and in 2020 Apple featured their track 'Show Me How' in a MacBook Pro launch event. Their fifth album, How drie a Cinder, came out in August 2026.
