Chatterton is a Southern California project, listed in Oxnard, built around Brock Pierce and Logan Scrivner, who fill out their recordings with a cast of guest musicians. Their sound mixes slowcore and shoegaze with a chamber-pop, almost storybook sensibility. Their September 2025 release Tiny Empire (home to Bite Down), produced by Scrivner, wears a children's-book look, with artwork by the illustrator Sibylle von Olfers, and folds marimba, glockenspiel, mellotron and organ in alongside the band's usual guitars.
