The Herbaliser are a London jazz-hip-hop outfit built around producers Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba, who turned to live jazz and funk players instead of turntables partly because they couldn't find rappers to work with at the time. Forty Winks comes from 1995's Remedies, their debut album on Ninja Tune, where the group was long a flagship act. Their music has also reached wide audiences through film: they produced music for the soundtrack to Guy Ritchie's Snatch. Their most recent album, Bring Out The Sound, came out on BBE in 2018.
